The Least (and Most) Expensive Triathlons in 2025

Triathlon isn’t exactly an inexpensive sport. You need gear for three different disciplines. On top of that, you’ll need clothing, nutrition, potentially coaching, and there’s increasingly expensive entry fees, of course.

The most recent USA Triathlon State of Sport Survey showed that annual spending on multisport increased by 12% in 2023, and 33% of members predicted their spending would increase in 2024. You’re looking at entry fees ranging from $60 all the way up to $1,000, depending on race type and distance. And that doesn’t even include travel fees, which – according to our 2025 Triathlete Community Survey, can be a significant added expense.
