The United States team may have improved its medal tally at the World Aquatics Championships that ended Sunday in Singapore, bringing home 32 —nine more than last year’s— but several swimming legends have criticised the sport’s governing body during the meet, calling for a ‘fresh start’ before LA28.
Team USA came in second overall last year in Doha, but they’ve slipped to third place in this edition, which ran from 11 July through 3 August, losing the runner-up spot to Australia, with China maintaining its lofty place at the top. ITG
